Rain & Weather Policy
At WAXD Mobile Detailing, we’re committed to providing high-quality results while keeping both our team and your property safe. Because all services are performed outdoors or under customer-provided cover, weather can sometimes affect whether an appointment can proceed—especially when exterior detailing is included.
This policy explains how we make weather-related decisions and how we work to minimize disruptions to your schedule.
Why Weather Matters
Rain, storms, and unsafe conditions can impact:
- The quality and durability of exterior detailing
- Whether it is safe for our team to work
- Whether your vehicle stays clean immediately after the service
Our goal is to protect your results and ensure safe, efficient operations.
How We Monitor Weather
We monitor reliable, hourly forecasts for your service address both:
- The day before your appointment, and
- The morning of your appointment
If weather may affect your service, our team will reach out as needed.
Covered Work Areas
If you have a garage, carport, or covered driveway, we can usually complete your service even if rain is expected, as long as conditions remain safe.
If no covered area is available and exterior work is scheduled, weather may require a reschedule to ensure the best results.
Letting us know ahead of time whether you have covered space helps us plan effectively.
Weather-Related Rescheduling
We may need to reschedule your appointment when:
- Rain is highly likely and no covered area is available
- Unsafe conditions exist, including:
- Lightning
- Heavy or persistent rain
- High winds
- Flash-flood warnings
- Hail or hail risk
- Tornado watches/warnings
- Any condition our technician deems unsafe onsite
Safety always comes first, even for interior-only services.
Weather-impacted customers are given priority scheduling for the soonest available openings.
Cold Weather Policy
Temperature plays a major role in the effectiveness of cleaning products, waxes, and protective coatings, and it affects technician safety and comfort.
For this reason:
- If temperatures are below 40°F, WAXD may reschedule your appointment at our discretion. Many detailing processes cannot be performed properly at lower temperatures.
- If temperatures are below 32°F, we will automatically reschedule your appointment. We cannot perform detailing services at or below freezing due to product limitations, surface damage risk, and safety concerns for both customers and technicians.
If cold weather is expected, we may proactively contact you to adjust your appointment.
Exterior Detailing Considerations
If exterior work is scheduled and rain is likely:
- We may offer a proactive reschedule to prevent the vehicle from being rained on immediately after the service
- If you have a covered workspace, we can typically proceed
- If you prefer to avoid any weather risk, rescheduling is always an option
If a service proceeds and rain occurs later in the day, WAXD is not responsible for post-service rewetting.
Morning-of Decisions
Final weather determinations are made the morning of your appointment once hourly forecasts are most accurate.
Our team will reach out if conditions require modifying or rescheduling your service.
Your Role
To help us serve you efficiently:
- Let us know if your property has a garage or covered area
- Respond promptly if we reach out regarding weather
- If you prefer to avoid any weather risk for exterior services, you are welcome to reschedule
Policy Updates
We review this policy periodically to reflect operational needs and seasonal weather patterns. Updates may occur to ensure we continue providing safe, consistent, and high-quality service.
